With grandkids in mind, they envisioned a place where laughter and connection could flourish, yet everyone could find their own private space to retreat and recharge. Nestled in serene seclusion, it offered the perfect balance of togetherness and tranquility—a true family haven. Designed with thoughtful, sustainable infrastructure to leave a gentle footprint on the world, this home became a backdrop for countless memories, celebrations, and quiet moments alike. Now, as Shelley and Lester embrace retirement through downsizing, this cherished homestead stands ready to welcome a new family, carrying forward its legacy of love, warmth, and togetherness.
Life as a House
There’s a certain kind of magic when a house becomes more than just a structure—when it
becomes the backdrop to the story of your life.
Here, life happens in every room. The kitchen isn’t just for cooking; it’s where laughter echoes
over breakfast, where friends gather with wine glasses in hand during dinner parties, and where
love lingers long after the last plate is cleared. The living room is no different—a space where
stories are shared, games are played, and memories are made. Every corner of this home is
designed for congregation, for connection, for celebration.
Yet, this house understands the beauty of solitude. With its thoughtful layout, including three
master bedrooms and two junior ensuites, everyone can retreat to their own oasis. Whether it’s
the parents, guests, or teens seeking a moment of peace, this home offers spaces to breathe,
reflect, and recharge.
Imagine the stories these walls have witnessed—the laughter, the toasts, the moments that knit
neighbors into lifelong friends. Owning this house isn’t just about the property; it’s about
stepping into a legacy of connection and joy.
What makes this home truly unique is the way it constantly surprises you. The angles and pitches
of the ceilings, the fine craftsmanship of the woodwork, the way the sunlight dances across the
grain—your eyes will never tire of discovering its beauty. It’s the kind of house that reminds you
of the artistry of building, where every beam and joint tells a story. The rich textures, intricate
angles, and craftsmanship invite your eyes to explore and admire, yet the design is never
overwhelming—just endlessly captivating.
Through life’s trials and tribulations, this home is a constant—a safe space to retreat to when the
world feels overwhelming. It offers comfort, warmth, and the intangible feeling of truly being at
home.
This is more than just a house. It’s the backdrop to life’s most important moments. It’s where
you’ll celebrate victories, find solace in challenges, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Are you ready to let this house become your home? Your next chapter begins here.

Carol & Mark Laverdiere
Carol and Mark Laverdiere dreamed of building the perfect log home from western red cedar, tailored to their exact vision. After a decade of planning, they partnered with Log Homes Canada to bring their dream to life, selecting the Snowbird design—still featured on the company’s website today. Construction began in 2011, and the infamous Mike Holmes was eventually brought in to complete the home, even featuring it in his show. By 2013, the home was finally finished.
Log Cabin Home Inc.
The home was purchased by a prominent Toronto lawyer, who converted it into an Airbnb. This change sparked strong opposition within the community, which valued the property as part of the private, family-focused neighbourhood fabric.
Shelley & Lester Lalla
The Lallas purchased the estate, just months before the pandemic. They lovingly restored the home to its intended glory, enhancing both function and curb appeal. Their improvements include a detached shed, renovating the expansive back deck with maintenance-free Trex material, tuck-pointed inside and out, re-stained the logs, and upgrading the driveway with repaving and elegant stonework. Under their stewardship, the property has been celebrated once again as a true family estate and a cornerstone of community gatherings.
